2010 REB Elections Speech:

“Im tirtzu, Ein zo agada” – “If you will it, it is no dream;

Hagesher, I would like to say that everyone loves t’fillot. I would like to say that everyone here is here for the amazing reledified programming. Unfortunately, this is not true. People are here to see their friends, meet new people, and ultimately, have fun.

I see a problem here. Reledified programs are fun. Services are fun. But rather than give them a chance, everyone immediately dismisses these amazing programs and complains when they are told to participate. Hagesher, as your next Regional Religion/Education Vice President, I want to change this attitude. It’s time, using many different tools, to change this attitude towards the most vital part of our Judaism.

In addition, I plan to have our own Heschel Convention, allowing USYers who enjoy studying torah to have another chance if they are unable to attend the international Heschel Kinnus. Again, by working together, we will make next year amazing.

Hagesher, with me as your next Regional Religion Education Vice President, we will work together to make services much more interesting and engaging and ultimately make next year the most amazing it can be.
